Deformation Characteristics of Mechanical Seal Face under Alternating Loads

Taking the mechanical seal of submersible as object, a transient coupled heat transfer model was established, and deformation face under stable alternating conditions investigated by considering thermal–mechanical coupling effect. The characteristics two different alternative forms amplitude period were analyzed. morphology wear measured discussed based on pseudo-real test loads. results showed that tended to be squeezed near inner diameter tapered convergent gap appeared at outer presented obvious loads, rotational speed greater than medium pressure. increased with while loads had little influence it. mechanism mainly abrasive wear, caused is more significant.
